Features
It works with what you already use: Control Center on the iPhone, the AirPlay button in apps and any DLNA controller on the network.
From Control Center → Screen Mirroring on iPhone, iPad or Mac. Hardware-decoded video, with sound in sync.
Tap AirPlay in YouTube or Safari and the TV plays the video by itself. Your iPhone stays free and works as a remote: pause, seek, queue.
AirPlay audio in ALAC from Music, Spotify and more, with artwork, title, artist and progress on screen.
VLC, BubbleUPnP, Plex or Windows “Cast to Device” send video, music and photos from a phone, a computer or a NAS.
JPEG, PNG, GIF, WebP or BMP, fitted to the screen and turned the right way up.
Made for TV: everything works with the remote control, settings included. Tested on Google TV.
Every language Android and Google Play support, right-to-left ones included. Dark mode and custom backgrounds.
How it works
It shows the receiver's name and IP address. It can also start by itself when the device turns on.
Connect the iPhone, iPad or Mac to the same network as the TV. AirPlayEx appears in the AirPlay list by itself.
The first time, a 4-digit code appears on the screen. After that, your device is remembered.
Security and privacy
Valid while it's on screen, only once and for 2 minutes. Limited attempts, with a temporary lock after failures.
A new controller has to be allowed from the TV before it can play anything.
While one device is streaming, the others are told it's busy. One playback at a time: two sounds never mix.
No accounts, no ads, no analytics. The receiver's identity and paired devices are left out of cloud backups.
