Features

Everything your Apple device sends, on the big screen.

It works with what you already use: Control Center on the iPhone, the AirPlay button in apps and any DLNA controller on the network.

Screen mirroring with sound

From Control Center → Screen Mirroring on iPhone, iPad or Mac. Hardware-decoded video, with sound in sync.

  • Audio and video in sync

Videos from your apps

Tap AirPlay in YouTube or Safari and the TV plays the video by itself. Your iPhone stays free and works as a remote: pause, seek, queue.

Lossless music

AirPlay audio in ALAC from Music, Spotify and more, with artwork, title, artist and progress on screen.

DLNA / UPnP receiver

VLC, BubbleUPnP, Plex or Windows “Cast to Device” send video, music and photos from a phone, a computer or a NAS.

Full-screen photos

JPEG, PNG, GIF, WebP or BMP, fitted to the screen and turned the right way up.

Just the remote

Made for TV: everything works with the remote control, settings included. Tested on Google TV.

77 languages

Every language Android and Google Play support, right-to-left ones included. Dark mode and custom backgrounds.

How it works

Ready in under a minute.

  1. Open AirPlayEx on the TV

It shows the receiver's name and IP address. It can also start by itself when the device turns on.

  2. Same Wi‑Fi network

Connect the iPhone, iPad or Mac to the same network as the TV. AirPlayEx appears in the AirPlay list by itself.

  3. Choose the TV and enter the PIN

The first time, a 4-digit code appears on the screen. After that, your device is remembered.

Security and privacy

Only the devices you allow.

  • A PIN the first time

Valid while it's on screen, only once and for 2 minutes. Limited attempts, with a temporary lock after failures.

  • DLNA approval on screen

A new controller has to be allowed from the TV before it can play anything.

  • Nobody interrupts you

While one device is streaming, the others are told it's busy. One playback at a time: two sounds never mix.

  • Your data stays on the device

No accounts, no ads, no analytics. The receiver's identity and paired devices are left out of cloud backups.

FAQ

Questions?

My TV doesn't appear in the AirPlay list.

Check that the iPhone and the TV are on the same Wi‑Fi network and that the router doesn't isolate devices from each other. Some office or guest networks block the discovery that AirPlay uses (multicast); AirPlayEx tells you on screen.

Can I watch Apple TV+, Netflix or Apple rentals?

No. Content protected with FairPlay Streaming is only delivered to devices certified by Apple, and Netflix hasn't allowed AirPlay since 2019. AirPlayEx detects it and tells you on screen. For those services, use their official app on the Android TV itself.

Do I have to enter the PIN every time?

No. Only the first time each device connects. In Settings you can see the paired devices, remove one or forget them all.

Does the sound get out of sync?

With “Sync audio and video” on (the default), each frame and each piece of sound plays at the moment the sender's clock says. If you prefer the lowest delay, you can turn it off.

Does it collect any data?

No. AirPlayEx has no accounts, ads or analytics, and sends nothing to any server. See the privacy policy.

Is it affiliated with Apple?

No. AirPlay is a trademark of Apple Inc.; AirPlayEx is an independent app with no relationship to Apple.
