AirPlayEx

Privacy policy

Last updated: September 30, 2026

AirPlayEx is an AirPlay and DLNA receiver for Android. This policy explains what information the app handles. In short: it doesn't collect, sell or share personal data, and it has no accounts, ads or analytics.

Data we don't collect

The app sends no information to any server, neither the developer's nor anyone else's. It includes no analytics, advertising or crash-reporting services.

Data stored only on your device

  • The receiver's AirPlay identity (an identifier and a cryptographic key) and the list of paired devices.
  • Your settings: language, theme, background and the app's options.
  • If you turn it on, the administrator lock password, stored as a hash.
  • If you choose your own background, a copy of that image or video.

The identity, the paired devices and the administrator password are left out of cloud backups and of transfers to a new device. Everything is deleted when you uninstall the app or use “Forget all devices”.

Network use

To work, AirPlayEx announces itself on your local network and accepts connections from devices on that network. What you send (screen, sound, video, photos) is played as it arrives and isn't stored. When a sender asks it to play a video, a song or a photo from a web address, the app downloads it directly from that server, as a browser would. If you choose a background from a link or from YouTube, the app loads it from that site, which has its own privacy policy.

Permissions

  • Network, Wi‑Fi and local network: to be visible and receive content from devices on your network.
  • Keep awake: so the screen doesn't turn off during playback.
  • Start at boot and display over other apps: only if you turn on “Start automatically when the device turns on” or “Don’t allow leaving the app”.

Signing out of streaming apps

If you turn this option on (it's off by default) and the app is the device owner, when a new device connects it clears the data of certain streaming apps installed on that same TV. It happens only on the device, nothing is sent anywhere, and the app asks for confirmation before turning it on.

Children

The app collects no data from anyone, children included.

Cookies on this website

This website only uses cookies if you accept them in the notice shown on your first visit. If you accept, it loads Google Tag Manager, a Google tool that in turn loads Google Analytics, which sets the _ga and _ga_* cookies (they last up to 2 years) to count visits and see how the site is used. This data is processed by Google Ireland Ltd. under its privacy policy (policies.google.com) and may be transferred outside the European Union. If you reject them, or until you answer, nothing is loaded from Google. Your answer is saved only in your browser, and you can change it at any time with “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page. The app itself contains none of this.

Purchase and license

AirPlayEx is sold on Google Play for €1.99. Google processes the payment under its own terms, and the developer receives no card or payment details. The app is protected by copyright and all rights are reserved: the purchase gives you a personal license to use it under Google Play's terms, and it may not be copied, redistributed, resold, modified or decompiled.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with its date. For any questions, write to the developer's contact email shown on AirPlayEx's Google Play page.
